NN 07 chinos are (or at least used to be, no clue if they have updated the fit) really slim throughout, dont like the fit at all. The rest of the stuff is solid but nothing special imo. Often some bad design choices in the details..

I could not have predicted the last 2 minutes of that fisherman video.

Random almost fashion thought: it was 60 degrees this morning. Felt so good.

Thanks useful to know - I may have got lucky with the XL. What chest are you? I'm 43"

45.5" according to my wife's measurement.
Shirts generally need to be 23" pit to put so I guess that makes sense.

Worse is when they end up on endyma at a quadruple markup.

In my experience everything can be ripped off from CHina, I recall reading an article a while back that even stated some big name brands send their blueprints to china in order to get a cut of the counterfit market for their own products, knowing they will sell for a lot less and to a customer base that isn't their target audience.

That's funny, I completely agree with you on Fashion Videos.. Ralph Lauren has a series of videos and his video on tailored suits is actually short and very good. Made me go out and get a custom fitted suit!

Any suggestions (even a suggestion of a brand or store to look at) for non-hideous:

-hoodie, preferably with some protection against rain
-gym bag

TIA

Nike?

A lot of people like the John Elliot + Co wares when it comes to sweats/hoodies. I have no experience with anything of theirs except tees.

I'm partial to the MMM leather elbow patch sweatshirts, but I realize they aren't hoodies. They're pretty thick, comfy (I sized up one from my usual Margiela size), and generally make it to sale time (I bought a navy one last season at retail for $495, and a black one for $170 on sale).

Can't help you with gym bag, sorry

There's quite a few decent-looking sweats around at the moment. Joe McCoy's maybe, if you want an old school repro. EPLA are doing hoodies too if you want something less rigorously heritage.

My gym bag is by Briefing, US-made, heavy-duty nylon, I think they make for the military so it's fairly hefty stuff.

[edit] quick check, it's the "gym wire bag"
