Hmm...tempting, Ill see if I can find the listing

I just realized I can also just buy from a brand I already have a lot from:

I like that mission statement. AFAIK, MFA is inundated by people who think that prep and the GQ aesthetic are the only things acceptable.

No, my knits are 2 and I'm 5'9 200lbs with a 40 inch chest, of that helps.

Thanks. I'm 6'2", 155 lbs with a 39" chest. So, perhaps I also need a 2...

Was thinking of getting the Red Saint Laurent shirt but $900 seems a little too steep for something I don't really wear a lot. Any decent (just don't want to buy anything that doesn't fit right) Hawaiian shirts out there I should look for before starting a search from scratch?

If your main concern is fit, and you don't plan on wearing this often, one idea is to just get some Hawaiian-esque shirting and send it -- along with a shirt that fits you well -- to any online MTM shirt tailor who can copy it for you. Proper Cloth, Cottonwork, and Luxire all do this kind of work. Essentially, they copy the fit and cut of your shirt, but make a new one from any fabric you give them.

You can find Hawaiian-esque shirtings easily by Googling "Hibiscus fabric" or something similar. Here's one site I found (zero idea about the quality)

http://www.barkclothhawaii.com/hibiscus1.html

You could also contact Rosen & Chadick and see if they have anything. They're a fabric shop in NYC that will send swatches and take orders over the phone. I've had good luck sourcing slightly obscure/ non-traditional shirtings from them. (Non-traditionally meaning things you wouldn't wear to a professional office). Tip Top in NYC also has some nice fabrics, but I don't think they take phone orders.

For a 44" width cloth, I usually take 80" in fabric. I'm a 36 coat. You'll need a little more if you're bigger than me, and perhaps just a little more if you want patterns to match up well.

Not strictly Hawaiian, but would work http://shop.bdgastore.com/collections/garbstore/products/uk-prision-blouson-shirt or http://www.couvertureandthegarbstore.com/product/?p=7236

The fabric is really nice.

Any thoughts on topic for the new challenge? Any thing anyone is dying to have as a contest theme?

g-trans is definitely the funniest MF on the forum right now.

After fasion recommendation - I want a long shirt that's white, that's not over $300. I love this Ann one, but it's $400 + shipping (so about $430 or so), and that's just a bit much for one shirt.

Any help, SF?

I think Parker had a long shirt made-to-measure. I'd check out options at a place like Modern Tailor or Luxire. A lot cheaper and completely customizable.
