Yeah, kinda hit or miss, and even the hits aren't really for me. But if it's of interest one of the founders is Jon Buscemi, of the brand Buscemi. Some context: http://www.forbes.com/sites/alextaub/2013/10/03/greats-is-building-the-next-great-footwear-company/

Feel like it's a really good idea that just doesn't come together all the way (the design is lacking in my opinion), but maybe worth keeping an eye on.

yeah, i'm still waiting for the fashunz startup that I can unequivocally say has great designs. maybe all the good designers have cushy positions in established companies and don't want to leave

paging @jet

(the fact that he's an established member who even before production has taken some feedback from the forum bodes well)

Yeah, after visiting the site, I think I'll pass on buying anything from them.

some decent ones here. Marios pleated ones are the cheapest and look pretty nice. http://no6store.com/categories/accessories.html

Building Block also does really nice stuff. Some available here: http://totokaelo.com/accessories/totes

Debating getting another pair of Visvim sneakers, or maybe boots.  The price is definitely right, but I have a pair coming already, plus I just commissioned a belt.   Decisions, decisions.

Shrink the time scale to five years and there's a lot more. Do you guys think about how long you can wear a given item, or is it all about what looks good right now.

A bit of a false dichotomy, but... right now.  If I like it, I get it.  I assume that my personal tastes will evolve a bit.  But what you like is a function of your personal experiences, and it's impossible to predict how you'll be in 10 years, in any meaningful way.  I mean, ten years ago, if someone were to tell me what I'd be doing today, and everything that has happened in the past ten years, I'd ask for whatever they'd be smoking.

That said, it's not like I buy something thinking that at some point in the future, I'll be completely over it.

Related, in a hilarious turn of the usual Styleforum event, I sorta want to get a pair of Alden chukkas, and I don't know my Barrie size, so I'll have to extrapolate that from my Viberg size...
