I fucking hate style "rules".

If I break like 5 style rules in one outfit I'm pretty sure I'll look fucking awesome, at the very least i'll look 100 times better than the people who made the rules.

This should be the next sw&d challenge thread.

For real somebody give me some "rules".

I'll wear white socks with black shoes

two different/contrasting patterns

I won't match my belt to my shoes (but I never wear a belt anyway)

what else...

Seriously though I was at the mall cos I needed some shoes real quick for a wedding and the associate told me "you need a black belt to go with the shoes, and remember, you should have some fun and match your socks with your tie for something like a wedding. Break a few rules!".
Nope, that's not breaking rules, that's looking like a douche.

Christophe Lemaire continues to amaze me or gets me excited when I receive an item of his and it fits!

Picked up some cotton trousers from Yoox and it is so light and breezy. Thought It was wool. I was afraid it was going to be rigid cotton like his chinos

Is anyone here doing the minimalist wardrobe thing where they own as few items as possible?

Luisaviaroma already has Lemaire FW14 online!!!! Dude seems to be picking up steam with every season.

Also, my friend works as the manager at the Vineyard Vines store in Georgetown and he gave me a heads up on the SS line coming out, apparently its going to be amazing and I think everyone on SF who is hating on VV will really enjoy their new line.

I'm bored so I'll expand on this for no reason at all

I like the idea of packing up my whole wardrobe in two duffles if I choose to. Since the last year I have been really careful with my purchases and kept only the items that I think will be part of my rotation for many years to come. It is not something out of the ordinary but when I spend $800 on a knit I would like for it to get a lot of wear and not be a closet queen. To tell you the truth I want to buy items and keep them (presumably) forever or until they are useless. Selling items at a steep discount to buy other items is a waste of time in my mind and besides probably two items I am considering selling I would like to never sell anything again....because I am too busy wearing and enjoying the item

In recent years I have purchased what I think are staples to my wardrobe that I will wear for the foreseeable future (I obviously buy only Margiela so that makes the buying process even simpler). I have a total of four cream knits. The one I just wore in WAYWT, a Replica Fishermans, and a Wool Leather patch one and a viscose knit. I am pretty much done on that front. I have also purchased my favorite rotation of footwear in a while which includes Replica boots, midnight boots, and SLP boots

Looking at my closet I have the following that I can be happy with for a long time

4 Cream Knits
4 Random Colored Knits
6 Pair of Trousers
4 Footwear Choices
6 Assorted T's/Margielas version of polos etc
1 Pair of sunglasses
1 Jewelry piece
2 Suits
3 Shirts
1 Viscose Jacket
Assorted Beachwear Items
2 Travel Bags (Eyeing Valextra at the moment though)

I like simple and at this point I just know what I like. If I can't wear a certain item of clothing it bothers me at times because again we spend so much on them they might as well be worn and I am not talking beating the shit out them, taking care of them is also important to me. I am not scared to sweat or baby them, but I won't go jogging or into a situation where they will be ruined or stained either

Again to be completely honest the often ridiculed Rick Owens quote made sense to me so fewer clothes more gym and I just enjoy what I have

Of course with my laid back Caribbean beach guy thing...it is easy, you guys up north or in LAGuy's cold, rainy, and cloudy utopia might have a harder time with it

That's cool Regis. I'm surprised you don't have a 5-zip.

I don't see any reason to do this, because there is more than one great brand (Ann, C-DIEM, IS, Guidi, Zam...). You just have to know what you're doing when mixing different brands.
