So far I'm really only finding that the Armoury has anything like that in my size, and unfortunately it's a bit of a jump in price point from where I've been buying suits in the last couple years. Higher still would be the suits at NMWA, which I think would also fit the bill except they don't even stock my size (34US / 44EU). I think in terms of CM trends, this is probably where things are heading, but I'm not necessarily trying to jump on board the trend as much as just getting towards what is going to be the most flattering for my frame in any event. Anyway, with more and more upcoming travel plans, I probably won't be buying another suit until early next year, so I have some time to search and really make sure I get things right this time (which I realize will still be a moving target, ultimately).

or just wait until the christophe lemaire fw14 stuff drops and cop a green double breasted suit. i know you want a green double breasted suit

You may share different viewpoints in terms of CM vs SWD where the first is more about formalities. Hence, one may opt for a shorter tail for the sake of elegance. On the contrary, so as long as the belt tail is not flaccid, does it really make a big difference in terms of appearance if the belt tail is lengthened? Also, taking into consideration the pair of trousers e.g. Jeans (cotton) vs wool vs linen, which can effect the belt width and positioning of the buckle.

I usually like the 2nd hole, especially for any belt that is 1,25" or longer.  Otherwise, the belt can get a little awkward to wear.  Belt tails are always flaccid unless you are wearing something like bridle leather, in which case, are you sure you want an extra 2 inches of 2 mm belt sticking out?

#goth ninja belts and skinny belts with a south western motif (these latter don't hang, though, since they are often double layered and studded and fairly stiff.  On the other hand, an MA+ or Julius belt, they hang.

I forgot to mention this but I think a belt that has double keeper stay helps with the visual proportion.

I will decide tonight and put in an order with NMWA redface.gif

Thanks!

Up until about a year ago I just had a black belt. Then I got a brown one, and I think I'm set on belts now.

Ha. I am struggling now as it is with seeing the remaining guys who are still wearing olive double-breasted suits from the 90s. They have the gall in 2014 to show up to the courthouse in these no-vent monstrosities, with their bengal-stripe dress shirts and brown Michael Scott ties. It's like they are *were using Liar Liar as a style manual.

Yeah, I really didn't like that Olive DB suit. There is so much better out there.

You are probably fine.  You can also live life just fine just dressed 100% in clothes from Walmart.
