Context has a bigger problem than website layout..
So many webstores are frustrating to navigate. Context makes you press the dumb icon in the corner to look at different brands. Tres-Bien makes you scroll giant ass text. etc etc

I like aesthetically pleasing websites but it seems, especially in fashion, that usability often suffers. PLEASE I JUST WANT TO BROWSE I CAN VISIT YOUR BLOG FOR HUGE ASS STYLE SHOOTS

when did context change their site? i haven't been on it for a second but the last time i was it was really easy to navigate and i mean it didn't look bad, but it didn't look good either. if you hadn't said something about the icon in the order i would have been looking for a while

To score max thumbs I will say this:
On the way to watch Werner herzog's Aguirre, the wrath of god, complete with a live orchestra playing the score, I walked by Michael fassbender!

Sipang would be proud.

When I started on SF, I was MC, with a stick so far up my ass that I'm pretty sure it came out my mouth. I've since gravitated towards SW+D, obviously. Now I'm trying to do more MC stuff, and good god the other side of the board as some fucking weird people. From the "what brands should I wear to sleep with random women" to "classic and timeless and perfect and fretting over a quarter inch" I just don't get it anymore and it makes me uncomfortable.

On the other hand, there is so much information to be had, it seems like a sad resource to waste. Just wish the MC dressers were a little.. well, more like SWD. Or stitchy. If everyone over yonder were like stitchy, it would be easier.

Last week I read something about how some of them couldn't wear linen because it wrinkled.

I'm in the same camp, spent my first couple years in MC before moving to SW&D (where I still mostly lurk).

I like that posters don't call each other "gents" here, and the relentless attempts at snark and cleverness in many MC threads are obnoxious, but there are still good posters. Overall, though, I find the community more enjoyable and welcoming on this side.

FWIW I think that thread was a joke.

Don't forget mc side is on average 10 years older than most sw&d.

I started mc too but realized i am more interested in sw&d...

You guys clearly don't remember the height of snark in MC.

This may be old news but I saw some very nice MMM pieces in IF in Soho today that were, sadly, tagged "Made in Croatia" and "Made in Romania."

I have nothing against Croatians or Romanians, just thought the house that Martin built would be one of the last to outsource. I know, silly of me. Still sad to see.

Otherwise great stuff in there. Not sure I understand the Harnden pants aesthetic (or could ever pull it off) but the jackets are awfully nice.
