Dries is god

Yolo, you can look for suits with tiny details that show it's not a cm type suit. Ex, cdg/yohji and their quirkiness. Yes, it's a little peacocky but it may set it it apart and make you feel more comforyable.
The cut if the suit will also help distinguish you from 'old man status'.

I just bought a car to curb my spending on clothes. Weird right?

I've realized that I don't care much about "quality" when it comes to clothes. As long as they look cool and don't disintegrate immediately upon first wear, for the most part I'm good.

Maybe I just haven't experienced the raptures of "true quality" or don't have the lifestyle that requires hard-wearing garments like some—for the most part my life is a recurring series of hours spent sitting in different rooms—but I have difficulty relating to people who geek out over quality ("the quality is insane!") and treat it as the essential characteristic when shopping (probably a more common occurrence in CM than in SW&D.)

Funny thing is, people baby things that cost a lot, but treat it like garbage if it doesn't. They then whine about it "falling apart," or saying it will only last "a few seasons."

Most of the time, from what I've seen on CM, when people refer to quality, they're not even really referring to quality anyway. They're referring to some feature or characteristic that's essentially just about design. Like a fabric that's softer or rougher, heavier or lighter. Or hand picked stitching. Or some "finishing" on a shoe. Etc.

IMO, this is like arguing that something blue is higher quality than something red.

Or sometimes they won't ever refer to design. They're just saying something is more expensive. "The quality on this is insane" a lot of times just means "This thing is super expensive!"

Yeah, this exactly. Same is true over on this side a lot of the time. It's more about what people like.

I think I trashed the elasticated cuffs on my Acne swestpants, wore them rolled up to my knee for quite a few hours at a rave last night.

Totally worth it.
