Yeah, the best SWD finds I've had are an attachment blazer and an our legacy blazer.

Oh! And I found an RRL henley the other day too. That one was my size :)

Question, probably for the MC guys - that DVN suit I bought came with a length of ribbon.  Is that to hem the pants? What's it for?

It's heel guard tape. Your tailor adds it inside the hem to protect it from friction

I was going to suggest using in as a tie... or belt.

Hmm Beijing, form a quick google search I'm under the impression that your playing a show? It seems you'll be far away from the major metro area but Sanlitun at night is a fucking trip, Dadu Bar Street, I remember this being called something different but its a canal packed with bars. Limited time sucks but if your doing a show make some friends and have them show you around.

Yeah, we're doing a couple of festivals. My first time in China so trying to make most out of it, was hoping to hit some stores and eat myself silly.

Unfortunately you didn't go to any of the major food attractions in China. If your used to Westernized Chinese food, your best bet is Shanghai. Beijing is alright but might not suit your palette. However for clothes shopping there are a lot of stores, the Chinese government taxes luxury imported goods, so anything you want, you will be able to find in these two cities. It will cost around 30-40% more compared to the USA.

Actually, looking for non-westernized stuff, I'm pretty open to everything and where I'm from it's hard to find anything even half-decent. Is there something essential I should try? Also, not necessarily looking for imported brands, any cool local ones?

You could check out local designers, mostly based in Shanghai. However, the stuff they make will be produced in China and be shoddy, or Italy and aimed at the rich population of China who really just want to be dressed like rich Westerners.

Pretty funny that Gilt calls anything made in Canada "imported" like it's a bad thing.

Wings and Horns, Todd Snyder, etc.

Anyone know how nonnative footwear fits or can speak about them in general

I was unaware anyone had done this. Regardless of being totally unware of the rest of the details for such a thing, I now want one so I can sit around in public and read Gibson's Bigend trilogy.

nonnative does not do their own footwear, and usually other companies end up doing it so sizing can be all over the place, can't really have a blanket sizing rec for them. I have one pair of boots and they are TTS, fwiw
