So I am in PAris for the week. Any recommendations on where to go, shop, eat?

not original at all but I was just there for Xmas and I really like the men's section at le Bon Marche. Vastly improved from my previous visit there. Galeries Lafayette on the other hand was as lame as ever. What brand are you looking for?

T1 how about some glasses at Maison Bonnet? or a hat from some chapelier?

T, I'm guessing you haven't been before? If so, the Mosqué de Paris is a nice stop for some delicious tea, good food, and a bath if you want. There's also a nice little garden just north and east of it (le Jardin des Plantes). I think it's worth it to ride to the top of the Tour Montparnasse if you want a beautiful view of the entire city. Alternatively, you can just go to the top steps of Sacré Coeur. Montmartre is a very beautiful neighborhood anyway, so it's worth the trip just for that alone. On the Île Saint-Louis is the spot to eat glace Berthillon. It's marvelous. And rich. Highly recommend it if you like decadent ice cream desserts. There's also some really great Vietnamese food in the city too.

I was only in Paris for a semester so I mainly got the touristy stuff down along with some other things that Parisian friends showed me. You really can't go wrong anywhere you go though—it's a really impressive city.

We hosted some refugee kids from Uganda last week...they're organizational rules required them to refer to me as "Uncle" which creeped me out. I wanted to explain the Alden thread to them but figured it would be inappropriate, not only because of the sexualized shoe fetish, but also the part about people paying $400-$600 for shoes.

The jacket I want doesn't exist, so that solves that.

I care more and more about comfort.. I often find my self choosing pants over jeans, sneakers over boots and sweaters over shirts, simlpy because it is way more comfortable if you walk around a lot and also if you sit down for a long period.

Next stop sweatpants and onesies.

I always wear sneakers when I can get away with them, just so much comfortable.
