Yeah, below 0 degrees celsius in the most southern part of Sweden now.

I wore uniqlo heatech, a thick flannel shirt, big Schneider scarf covering the whole torso and a wool coat this morning and I was still freezing.

It's gonna be worse if you go further up north and Lapland is just miserably cold (-20 atm).

I'd get the Nanamica and if you pair it with a ultra light down and some heattech you'll probably be fine.

I probably won't even wear the jacket in SE Asia. Just want it to be lightweight so that it can be easy to carry around in my backpack.

How's the weather during summer?
Southern Scandinavia is 15-20c in the summer and 25-27c on a good day.

The weather is the best around august.

Why not just amil the jacket back home when you don't need it anymore? Saves a lot of annoyance and isn't that expensive.

i get way too OCD with the particulars of tailoring and i end up messing stuff up. usually it can be fixed, but best case scenario its a waste on money and more time without my stuff, and worst case i tailor something to death. anyone else a fool liek me?

I've tailored some things a few times. Sometimes it's a matter of changing taste, or changing weight, or just dialing in my preferences. I haven't actually damaged anything but I've spent too much in retrospect. Then again, having something tailored right is, to me, the difference between wearing something all the time or not at all.

My IS derbies arrived today. They made me feel two things.

1. Did not expect the texture on the leather to be wool. Thought it was just a very heavy suede.
2. BREEZYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THE BOOTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i usually get too particular about the length of my pants or the waist/seat area and i have the micro adjustments made and more often than not im unhappy with it and it sometimes take 3 or 4 tries before im pleased. i think i only really killed 2 pairs of pants, but sometimes i wish i was less particular about these things.

but you nailed it i with that sentence. whatever my mental issues, if im not pleased with the tailoring, i end up not wearing it.

"Today I spent my lunchtime in the street outside my office, in a parked 911 4S looking at two Patek 5980s, an Explorer II 1655 and a Daytona 6239."

Damn. (Even) more ballers than initially realized in the watch thread.
