It's more fundamental than that.  You just need people who will read the label.

Now here is the rub: most men stand more erect than normal when looking at themselves in the mirror or when being fitted by a tailor (which, anectodally, is why some old school bespoke tailors prefer to do fittings without a mirror). Also, turning your head to check your back may create the ripple.

So, in conclusion, you need to assess the back of your suit when in your most "normal" posture - walk around the room a little, shake your arms, then look at a 3-way mirror without changing your posture. If the collar roll is still there, have a semi-competent alteration tailor fix it.

The concept of the "perfect fit" is a flawed one.  A garment, not matter how well made, can only fit "perfectly" in one position.  Many posters seem to think that this one position is the "standing like a robot, arms straight out to the side" pose.  I know this "normal" posture thing is something that a lot of tailors emphasize, but I think that the thinking is flawed, because no one else is going to care at all if there is a slight rippling through the shoulders. So,you should get the suit altered so that you think that it looks great, when you are looking in a mirror. when you actually see yourself.

Well that's a novel idea : alter your clothes for the 5 seconds you look at yourself in the mirror in an unnatural posture rather than for the entire time you're going to wear them... I know you like to think outside of the box, but sorry, no. If you're going to go through the trouble of getting clothes altered and tailored, do it the right way.

That makes me think that photographs really aren't the best way to appreciate fashion. And with all the effort people put into taking photos of themselves I'm surprised they don't just snap a quick 360 video instead. The Official SW&D WAYWT Video Thread, now THAT would be fucking cool. Someone make it happen, please.

(and yes I know of THAT ONE video on youtube...)
