On a more practical level, the new moonphase is pretty nice.

Honestly, everything ALS churns puts out is pretty much brilliant.  To those who don't want to drop six-figures, but are willing to drop four or five, you can get a similar aesthetic and quality with Glashutte Original.

The two guys at 1:45-1:50 seem pretty cool.  "It's cheap" and "it looks good" sounds like good enough style to me (especially in their area, clearly).

None of these brands make decent side or backzips though. I mean I like my MMM ones, but there really aren't too many other alternatives. They aren't exactly pinnacles of craftsmanship, but they're somewhat readily available.

I like my Guidi 995's, but their back/sidezips are too bulky IMO.

For sidezips, try Buttero.  Since the look is trendy in Italy right now, there are more and more brands doing stuff like this.  I haven't seen too much in the way of backzips though.  Maybe Marsell?

They're in the mail. Couldn't stop thinking about those black suede ones you posted on FB a couple of months back.

I've ignored most of your troll-baiting posts, but besmirching the good name of Calvin and Hobbes is too much to stands, and I can't stands no more!

Have you seem the guidi 698?
They're the least bulky and actually a nice shape to them.

Anyone handle the Mr. Hare Bernard model Derbies this season? Any comment on quality and how they fit? A little roomy/long or TTS?

I've looked at Mr Hare's shoes before but the quality has never impressed me. I always thought it was massively overpriced. Dior Homme shoes on the other hand (the formal range) always seem sleek and well made and cost roughly the same.

I've bought a pair of DH's on sale for about $400 and they are absolutely fantastic

i love the shape of the bernard derbies.  but i think i would only buy if they went 50% off.. 900 bucks for a pair is just a bit rich for me..

hares are not even worth it at 50 off

Lol yes agreed, watching them til they hit 70%...I need some black shoes to wear with black trousers, and it's either them or the Lemaire sidezips.

So comments on sizing??
