Suddenly I feel emboldened by the fact I chose to go into computer science

IMO Yahoo has the best 'free' food in the Valley, and Google definitely wins on variety. Wasn't too impressed with any meals I had at DB, Palantir, or FB. Really don't understand all the tuckshop hype

Yahoo's is pretty good. My old man works there and I visit from time to time. The startups tend to have more interesting interior design at least. Google gets clever points for tricking their employees into working in the kitchen as a "reward". satisfied.gif

If the same Herman-Miller furniture set against differently hued accent walls counts as interior design, sure!

Compare this with HP, IBM, or any of the other "older" companies:

Yahoo has karaoke rooms on every floor though.

Dropbox.

No, that's Dropbox - AirBnB also has cool looking spaces. Yahoo! still looks like shit. The purple is heinous and covers the campus; it's one of the reasons I turned down an offer (0). They do seem to be emphasising it less and less in the newly renovated parts though.

For all married couples, a HHI > $100K is 56%.
To be fair, for individuals, $100,000 is at about the 93rd percentile.

At the end of my doctorate, I was getting pretty tired of the whole thing, and briefly considered a career in management consulting.  I attended a few of those prep classes, and if that wasn't enough to dissuade me of it, a good friend who was a management consultant told me "Don't do it.  It sounds okay, and the money is good, but you end up doing uninteresting work and making Powerpoint presentations."

Triple Works.  But... they don't make these any more.
