I swear I've seen this term before, but upon a reddit search for the post I was looking for, maybe I used the wrong term.

The style I was thinking of is basically very tech-y, very futuristic style, (ACRNM, Stone Island/Shadow Project, etc.) but with lots of use of white and neon, as opposed to black and earthy colors.  I at least found this Pintrest, which looks like what I'm thinking of, so I didn't totally bungle it up.

and

fit my conception best.  As well as pieces like these Raf Holo High-tops

and this Stone Island Reflective Jacket

Since I can't travel right now, and normally, I have a ritual of stocking up on socks and underwear while in San Francisco (Chup socks, always Saks house brand boxer briefs). I did it online instead.  Don't judge me.

^I've just today realized how nice Chup socks are.

On a random note, My soon-to-be wife(!), who is a rather famous researcher in her field, told me that she doesn't like her job anymore and wants to pursue a consulting opportunity that would likely result in a much higher income so I can do whatever I want, like, she suggests, quit my job and have a little storefront in the historic part of town where I sell my crafts (leather, canvas, and ceramic goods, although the majority of sales would still likely be online), along with those of other local artisans (of which there are many here)...

Chup socks are indeed great, as are Falke.

That's pretty damn great, Zissou. Congrats on the engagement and good luck on the potential venture. That sounds really great icon_gu_b_slayer[1].gif

Do it, man.  And congrats.

But @zissou would actually have a career, albeit a possibly lower paying one, though, having been in academia for a while, not necessarily even.  A bit of marketing skill, sound business fundamentals, and people have been known to do quite well for themselves.

@caseyfud Pollini is a classic Italian brand, nice leather and clean designs. Not sure if Studio is diffusion or not but mainline stuff is pretty good. My girl got a few bags in the $150-200 range. Stock seems low right now but usually they have a lot
