Extended family debating hitting up Old Navy for Black Friday sales. Some are complaining that the deals aren't good enough. These are times when I browse my phone and watch football.
unironically going to old navy tomorrow with my gf (or fiancee now I guess!). we went there to buy someone a scarf as a gift and the aesthetic is surprisingly on point - tapered sweats, big oversized cableknit sweaters, cocoon coats. also gap has some nice stuff too. the quality is shit, but they're finally hiring good designers it seems.
why? there's nothing 'wrong' with buying from old navy. and i'd rather pay old navy prices than barney's prices, especially if the clothes look the same. with women's clothing the quality difference between mid-tier and mall brand is a lot smaller.
well, it wasn't a surprise, we'd been talking and planning for a number of months. we've already talked with our parents and started planning the actual wedding, including going so far as to look at venues. we were waiting until we had a chance to go to new york and purchase the ring she's interested in (she has a very small finger so it needs to be custom ordered and we have to pick out a stone) to do something 'official', but she had a cute idea and went for it. still waiting until we get the ring to announce to everyone though. in the mean time i bought a $40 pearl ring off etsy.
