It's gonna be a little before I can get it sorted out.

So I need recs for a nice slim navy wool suit for $400-500 that I can get within a week...Anyone?

In Portland, you could at least try on any H&M options.

Suit Supply could be good, but not sure how fast they ship (outside expedited).

Also, may not be quite as slim as you're after, but Epaulet has their unconstructed sportcoat in navy cotton duck on sale in a 40:

Match the pants (which you could slim down if wanted) and you've got a suit for $545.

You might have a problem when you need to create a MS Word document with an itemized list of eBay descriptions and starting bids for use in the event of your untimely demise so that your wife may dispose of your shoe collection properly... That thread is f'd.

Sweet just found 100 bucks in a jacket pocket, 0 recollection of where it came from. Today already is basically amazing.

Nice pics. Racial makeup seems representative of Sweden.

ETA: in new Hodinkee video, there's this old Italian watch collector who casually opens up the back of his Rolex 4113 ($1.5+ million) with his cheese knife after he cleans it on the sleeve of his likely bespoke sports coat.

Thick socks, wear them at home for 1-2 hours at a time

Wearing my ToJ Fishtail Parka today. It's fairly toasty (not to mention comfortable) at -5C / 23F with a wool sweater on.

I would probably buy another one if they opened up orders again..

stumbled across an old article about fashion in japan

"That mind-set is reflected in men's fashion and fashion design. The trend now is for men to look like they want to be fed and/or devoured by women. One of the pioneering brands for that is Lad Musician, headed by the designer Yuichi Kuroda. Lad Musician burst onto the Tokyo fashion scene in 1995 in a glam-rock/low-slung-guitar kind of way, espousing an emaciated, tragic sexiness enhanced by clinging silhouetted tops and slim, revealing pants with no pockets and very little breathing space. Lad Musician aesthetics has grown thanks to the general weight loss among young men, and the silhouettes (especially for long-sleeved T-shirts, polo shirts and sweaters) are tighter than ever before. Young men will combine these tops with baggy jeans that are suspended 8 centimeters below the navel on terrifically flat stomachs, subconsciously channeling, perhaps, the Kate Moss look of the late 1990s. Kuroda's designs are famed for being extremely selective, shunning those who weigh more than 63 kilograms or are overly muscular."
