nobody interviewing a fresh college grad is gonna call you out for not wearing a nice wool suit

Well if I get the job, I'll need to wear the suit probably 1-2 times a week, so I want something of decent quality/fit (Uniqlo will probs fit the bill)

Also in the market for a beater suit, but it seems uniqlo is the only option with separates. Need a 40/42 jacket, 30 trousers -_-

It's really become possibly the worst thread on Styleforum without Drew which is sad because it's had so many great moments.  I daresay it's become worse than the Alden thread.  At least people post pics there on a regular basis.  All that's left in the TOJ thread is people wondering if they should change their measurements by 0.05493294 inches and high school kids planning "raves."

I'll post something useful when my next order arrives. Or the next time I wear my suede harrington. It's been raining a lot lately out here.

It's gonna be a little before I can get it sorted out.

So I need recs for a nice slim navy wool suit for $400-500 that I can get within a week...Anyone?

br monogram stuff is surprisingly good both in cut and materials

Lad Musician's webshop only carries up to size 46? ffffuuuu.gif
post #87190 of 109053
Yeah Lad Musician is one of those Japanese brands like wjk that really doesn't carry anything over what we'd consider a small or sometimes medium.

Size 46 in Lad is a "large," though. It basically goes 40 = XS, 42 = S, 44 = M, and 46 = L, though most Lad is cut on the slim size of things excluding the parkas and overcoats. I take a 44 in Lad, though I usually take a 48 in most Japanese brands.

Ah... thinking about a parka or chesterfield since I was too busy ordering leathers to appreciate how good Drew's were. Any firsthand impressions? shog[1].gif TIA.

There's also a melton parka sans fur.

The "mods coats" are definitely my favorite pieces they make. They have a removable thinsulate lining and quality construction. I'm personally trying to find an AW11 one in a 44 for myself. I like the current season wool ones, but they're too long.
The chestfields and overcoats are about what you'd expect, I think - slim fits, above-average tailoring for a "street" brand, pretty good fabrics.

Good to know... looks like 46 might fit US38/40? Lounge Lizard seems to make a similar one as well.

what's worse - sizing questions in the APC thread circa 2010 or the uncle/nephew dynamic (and the refusal to use spoilers) in the alden thread of present day?
