Same here. I'm half Norwegian and have never been successful with facial hair; having blonde hair doesn't help either. I gave up years ago.

do iiiiit...

SQL, matlab and c++ are the trilogy. not much non-web you're not able to do if you know the three well. throw in python for scripting/text processing stuff if you're feeling ambitious

SQL seems terrible once you learn Datalog, and why bother with C++ when you can get SBCL nearly as fast as pure C?

The Matlab code I've had to debug still gives me nightmares.

Haha Matlab was probably one of my least favorite courses in college.

All that shit is child's play compared to assembly language.

Whoa there, let's not get hasty.

Also, re: SQL, any query you write in Access you can look at it in SQL code. Granted it's not "pure SQL" code, but it's helped me many a time.

I've been doing Japanese->English translations of G-code and C program comments and related documentation for machining equipment and it's making me want to pull my eyes out
At least with software programming you have a ton of good documentation and a computer right in front of you test stuff out

This. Still don't know what a forloop is after copy pasting my software engineer friend's code all day.
