My days of slim or even "fitted" stuff are over. nod[1].gif

Well, I've come to the conclusion that any sort of pant or trouser I'm going to tuck shirts into has to be a lower rise, my waist is so short that it looks like I don't have one at all with a higher rise trouser.

And 7" or less hem because I'll be wearing them exclusively with slim ankle boots

This doesn't even make sense. What are you going to tuck the shirt into? Every time you sit down it's going to yank the shirt out of your pants, or you'll end up with awkward shirt bunching at your crotch, like when people try to tuck things into low-rise jeans.

Are you sure you're measuring this right? Any less than 7" is really, really tight, especially on a trouser. You'll probably be able to see the boot shaft through the pant leg.

If that's what you want, go for it, but you might want to re-check your preferences.

OK I guess I shouldn't have said low rise, I'm not looking for something like an APC PS cut lol. Certainly no higher than medium rise though.

And the ideal hem for me is around 6.75", I don't think it'd cling to the boot shaft of my sidezips

The only reason I'm keeping slim trousers around is that I have those sidezips/other boots that I think I might like to wear at some point. Can't see it happening anytime soon but who knows.

Im 5'9 and one of my jil trousers have 5.5 hem but generally I wear 6.5-7 for slim trousers/jeans.

Why aren't you keeping your cos trousers reedo?

I saw some black Jil pants in the marketplace earlier this week. about 7.5 leg opening and 10.5" rise.

I'm still a fan of super narrow pants with ankle boots though.

Don't you run into issues with the trouser hem not falling correctly over the boots when you stand up after sitting down or after you uncross your legs? I end up opting for shoes over boots when I'm wearing trousers with a slim leg opening because I don't want to readjust the hem every time.

newer restaurants and office buildings have designated areas specifically for pulling your trousers over your boots. next time you go out to dinner, look for the fenced-off area with the floor painted yellow

as horrible as the alden thread is, is it weird that i kind of want a pair of alden indy boots?

it's understandable

I've never gotten Devoa. It almost never looks good worn, and the pieces I've handled/tried on haven't blown me away. The fabrics are in the vein of all the artisan brands, and the anatomic seaming doesn't seem any more special than the shifted armhole on my luxire shirts.

Also high rise pants are the best.

if you're gonna buy aldens, buy alden seconds from theshoemart. most of the seconds have only cosmetic imperfections that will become invisible with wear.

Ugh, same here. Currently waiting for the "21 day pending period" to end on two items I just sold. What a bunch of non-sense.
