anyway, what should I be packing for clothes? it'll be summer there.

You could be getting in WAY over your head, lol...

It depends on exactly what you will be doing, but in general backpacking requires specialized gear, clothing, cooking skills, etc.

I'd suggest doing some research, good luck!

"Backpacking" can refer to either camping where you carry all your cooking gear, food, clothes, tent, sleeping bag, and all in your backpack, or a type of low-budget traveling where you stay in hostels and carry all your clothes in a backpack (e.g., "backpacking across Europe"). The latter, which is most likely what mikey is doing, doesn't require any specialized gear, clothing, or cooking skills.

you're exactly correct, which is exactly why i put it in quotations. we'll be staying in hostels, etc., etc.

Lube and nothing you don't want stolen.

if you already have the postmans i'd suggest returning the docs. the postman has a nicer shape and seems to have higher quality leather as well, i can't really think of a single reason for owning both. i went with the docs because they're about $135 cheaper and it was an "experiment" :o

the docs have a sole more suited for bad weather for me the postmans are nice but i don't see how i will not be walking very cautiously when it starts to snow with them. plus i like to mix it up some times. can't be wearing aldens every day.
