Not really a baseball fan, but I did live in Boston for 4 years, and got an appreciation for the Red Sox.

you should have appreciation for the dodgers dick you're a disgrace to your own screen name

My PhD advisor actually had Dodger's season tickets, and I went with him a few times.  His seats were about 10 rows in from 3rd base.  I just remember drinking a few of those huge beers and the fat French-Canadian pitcher.

lol.  The truth is that, in general, LA doesn't care too much one way of the other.  I know that that was really infuriating for the fans in the really pro sports focused cities.  The flip side, of course, is that you can walk around Dodger Stadium wearing any other team's paraphernalia, and you'd barely get a second look.

Boston/New England gets a huge rep as a "sports" area, but really they only care about their own teams. This is a huge part of being a big sports town, but I would give St. Louis a big edge of Boston in terms of overall baseball understanding. It's a lot like Patriot fans - they don't know anything about the sport other than their own team. The bay area has plenty of casual bandwagon fans too, but we get minimal respect as a sports mecca - in the past few years we've had how many playoff teams in how many sports? We don't even have our own ESPN sub-site and shitty Dallas has one.

There was also that Giants fan who got beaten into a coma outside Dodger stadium.

Didn't a guy wearing Dodgers gear get stabbed to death in SF after a game a few weeks ago?

People should not have such strong feelings about a sports team.
