Has anyone else has the little plastic topy come off from their H&M/Margiela boots?

Annoying.

Looked at Silent Damir Doma, but generally just slightly too much drop crotch for me.

The 3.1 Phillip Lim "Saddle Fit" pant that he does every season would be perfect for you.  Nice and roomy at the top with an aggressive taper.  Minimal details and always come in moleskin and heavy wool variations.  $275 retail.

I think this season they might only be a deep navy and this "dust" color (at least as far as plain fabrics go) but you can probably track down a pair in other colors.  I mean it when I say they fit as you describe.

I gave Fycus a pair in a blue wool during superswap once so maybe he can weigh in too

Aren't these pretty much SF's low end wet dream? Slimmed down monochrome Docs?

The heel is coming loose on one of mine. I keep meaning to take it to the cobbler to have it fixed.

Nice avatar, btw.

just have them grind the heel flat and put rubber over the whole thing.

Never been to a cobbler before, but this is a good idea! Thanks!

Had a cobbler topy my hmmms last fall, used them daily for the whole winter and they are still going strong (45$ well spent) :fonz:

RE: good product copy: I think many SF b&s listings actually do this better than any webshop I've seen.

sure but most webshops aren't trying to strike a casual tone or be funny by using our inner circle's hermetic language. marchal.gif

This won't be helpful but isn't this concept what the toj trouser was (not still available right? ...right?) and what the snowman pant was going to be?

For what it's worth, TOJ trousers are still listed as an available product on the website.  If they are in fact still available, that's probably your best bet in terms of price and quality.  Guess it depends on how you feel about pleats.
