Every store that carries lemaire has a different interpretation, but from my experience, 1= xs, 2=s, 3=m, etc. Basically the way Mr. Porter sizes it. Keep in mind it's supposed to be kinda generous, but he keeps certain dimensions (such as the hips) true to size so the silhouette isn't too oversized

It's definitely both, sellers often have an irrational attachment to the piece since they bought it for X price and maybe are waffling on keeping it, so the price starts at a number only someone who is in search of the exact piece or has lots of disposable cash will pay. Buyers scour B&S strictly for pieces going at significant discount, and are always trying to get a better deal (and believe that a better deal will eventually show up).

Maybe it's that so many more people are involved in buying and selling clothes now than even a few years ago, so the market is expected to be more inundated and buyers anticipate finding a better piece at a better price always

Just a minor anecdote, but probably the most aggressive and weirdest thing I could possibly sell out of my wardrobe was one of the first to go when I put up a bunch of stuff, just because I was asking so little I guess ($50 shipped)

Like, never would I have thought that a brown, sheer, 100% synthetic Philip Lim "longshirt" with a mandarin collar and bizarre tuxedo bib would get 3 bites in less than 24 hours and sell immediately, while a black and grey Schneider cardigan hasn't gotten a peep, but whatever.

Ok that actually answers my question well reason I asked I wasn't sure if sizing went off euro or French sizing. So fit should more relaxed like lookbook/collection suggests.

i think c4est's anecdote shows that the average b&s shopper is excessively price sensitive. they care more about the price than the good. that seems to be the case for me too. definitely got more queries about the lad pants (6-7) than the damir pants (0)...which are infinitely superior...

that philip lim is atrocious btw

they always seem to size up one or two for the lookbooks. IRL it's a bit slimmer than that if you go tts

Since I was born in Cuba I can't vacation there and enjoy it fully. I feel like shit staying at a "5 Star Hotel" while the family is mixing powder for milk. If you go to Cuba just enjoy it look at the 50's era cars still running with makeshift everything, clear and untouched beaches (shores are plentiful in lobsters etc since they are off limits) tropical drinks, and the hospitality. I met plenty Canadians while I was there and they looked like they did not want to leave...ever

I'm at a point where I don't want to visit anywhere else in the world and just drift around the Caribbean for a couple months at a time until I touch every island and cay

Jet, I'd say come down to the MIA, stay at the Delano

I think the main reason why b/s moves so slow now is that most consumers are so used to being able to return/exchange the item if it doesn't fit. Unless you have a previous history with something, there's no way to ensure you'll actually like it on yourself or that it will actually fit.

haha yeah, everything else I put up that was markedly cheap sold pretty much immediately.  The two exceptions being a nice Folk belt for only $40 and an Oliver Spencer tee that is probably overpriced in retrospect.  What's funny is I feel like (aside from the OS tee I'm mentioning) everything I listed was priced very fairly, and the super cheap stuff was supposed to be a reflection of that.

also, that Philip Lim shirt owns and the one time I wore it, I wore it almost entirely unbuttoned layered under my tan CdG linen shirt, with lots of jewelry and my Lanvin straw hat which I think really worked.  But it is atrocious on a hanger for sure.
