does anyone know whether sufu's b&s moves faster than sf's these days? sf's b&s is pretty much fucking dead. i really need to clean out my closet. thanks!

It's worth a try, though in my experience it's no faster.

Since you live in NY, have you considered consigning?
no, i've never considered consigning, but i honestly think the cut the consignment store takes is too big for the exposure they offer. i need to clean out my closet, but i'm not in that much of a rush to sell these.

it's funny you say that because I felt the same thing when I moved there for a little (like ten years ago). in NYC you'd see older guys on the street all the time, but in Rio you saw whole families on the street. the last time I was there though, which was about two years ago now, it was really different. that stuff was mostly gone from the tourist areas. i suspect it was just pushed to less visible parts of the city.

Sufu moves at about the same speed (unless you have a hyped item), it's honestly just a matter of cutting prices to where you're uncomfortable with them, that's really what seems to move product that isn't super sought after

Actually, who here has a background in market research and survey design? I've thought about creating a lil survey to see who exactly shops on B&S, how they shop, etc

i'm not sure whether sellers or buyers have unrealistic price expectations... but i really do think it's the buyers 75% of the time...

This is completely anecdotal, but my personal experience has always been that safer, MC casual stuff moves the fastest. Trousers from Howard Yount, Epaulet, etc I would move at ~%75 of cost within a 24 hr period.

SP is not really the most touristy place and I saw families/lone children etc. sleeping right outside some of the most expensive addresses in the city, I don't know if it's still the same, but it didn't seem like they were trying to cover it up.

There's a favela right next to the airport, as well.

For one thing, they almost always refuse to pay full price for a used MTM Korean jacket, the bastards! lol8[1].gif

It's probably both.

I know there's a lot of koreans on here, who may have some relation to North Korea.

With that said I have been reading about it for the last couple of months and it seems like a places that would be really interesting, as it's a one of a kind place and sort of a case study of how not to do things.

One of the travel agents I have been looking at actually offer business trips, so it seems like they are opening up, from what I can gather is that its like Cuba 20-30 years ago with worse weather.

This is why I said it wasn't only a geographical experience that was needed but also to move along many circles. I don't see why those old Germans are any more pathetic than George Clooney.

Need good pictures, once you have a buyer, offer another item at a steep discount. saves shipping another time. Don't drop prices for a really long time. Spend the 25$ on the bump option.
NEVER post measurements.
