You'll be better off ordering directly through the store, as you'll avoid any proxy fees. They generally charge 5-8% on top of other costs. However, if there are going to be import fees then use the proxy and have the value marked down to something negligible.

Consider that many proxies will mark down the item value for you and mark it as a gift. It's pretty hard to get shops to do this.

i have a decent job now, but still it when i buy something at retail and see a full size run for 50% off a couple months later. it makes me feel like i bought something overproduced/undesired, and the "lost" couple hundred bucks also hurts. just a matter of principle, not necessity (who needs these $500 sneakers hate anyways??). i don't really wear anything enough to justify the cost, it mostly gets collected and taken out when i really wanna look fly (aka not during my 9-5).

so my question: what's worth buying at retail this season (won't make it to sale/is never even on sale)? i can only think of givenchy, balmain, and maybe balenciaga sneakers, (SLP?) but with a lot of givenchy and balmain i feel like i wouldn't like their stuff if i didn't know it to be crazy hyped. that said, balmain reptile-like sweats and jeans are awesome this season, and givenchy had a pretty cool pair of pants as well, but i think i want to get a cool jacket or top.

Buddy and me just met two japanese girls from osaka who barely spoke english outside this bar. Wanted to tell them I'd be in tokyo visiting nicelynice when their limo showed up, they were so cute.

Interesting-- is it common practice for proxies to mark down the value of the goods? Or is it something I have to mention directly?

Common practice. I use FromJapan. On the shipping instructions step, you can mark the value of each item that's being shipped, and this will be marked on the customs slip.

Seconded.

It's hard to pick a favourite, though if I was forced:

"The weather is so crummy today," David said as drank our tea, all bundled up in inappropriately dismal summer weather, "why don’t we catch a movie at the Nick and then head over to the Gelato Fiasco?"
