Seattle is a cool city but as an already-depressed person it actually almost killed me.

Certainly you can wear leather stuff, just take care of it. And carry an umbrella.

Can't argue with this. SL is sloppier than DH, with less tailoring. The shoes and accessories (probably the most Dior-esque parts of SL) are still excellent, in my book.

I happen to like it  :-)

This. I seem to like SL in spite of myself; it certainly doesn't really match the rest of my wardrobe.

Seattle rain is really light 90% of the time. Normal clothes are more than fine.

I keep seeing that SL editorial with Tadanobu Asano (def had to google that name) in the clothes and I just don't think he looks cool at all. The varsity looks so out of place on him, at least to me. Some of the other shots are plain awkward (that tiny cropped peak lapel jacket over the flannel...) It's clothes for kids (ideally mantis-thin ones) to play dress up. On adults I just don't see it working very well.

recommendation for stylish waterproof gear? Been thinking about field jacket/mac. How about shoes?

lol, dude, jfc...you're not prepping for a move to waterworld. summers are 75, sunny and breezy, so no adjustment needed. winters are overcast and drizzly pretty much all the time. think you're fine keeping what you've got and simply picking up some kind of hooded rain jacket. like my marmot , but arcteryx makes higher end rain gear as well. hit rei or the arcteryx flagship store when you get here

RFT: CdG should sell shirts and pants with random patches of velcro loops all over. Then they should separately sell patches in different fabrics with the velcro hooks on the underside. That way you can make your own patchwork shirt/pants and don't have to buy different ones. No wait. Don't tell anyone. I'm going to email Junya and make a million dollars.

For some reason, my basic Balmain tees have held up better than any other brand...

Mine (crew neck) don't have a particularly large neck opening. They do make shirts with a large opening though. I don't even remember where they were from... Aloha Rag 3 pack maybe? They don't seem to be in stock anymore... they're old.

Looks like this shape wise:

They fit large.
