It's all their fault.

Good thing to have if you plan on getting a China visa, save $110. Well any passport other than a usa one would do.

can somebody please explain to me why so many people think nike flyknits are cool?

i think they're really quite ugly and while i understand that they are extremely comfortable (according to everyone who likes them) people seem to like the design too.

Other people have different opinions than you.

Clearly. I just don't understand why there's so much hype about them, they get sold out quickly, etc.

Also, does anybody know about sizing on Salvatore Ferregamo shoes, and how the quality is on them?

Thanks.

Is there any other athletic shoe on the market that looks like them, first of all? No.  Flyknits are innovative and provide a modern, techish look new to footwear.  Second, the micro-precision technology used by Nike to create the uppers allows them to create variegated patterns that would have been impractical before when athletic shoes required some 35 odd pieces to stitch together. (Nike is making a boat-load of money on Flyknits; not only do people like the style but they save on labor costs as well.) I read some article about how they can precisely vary the thickness of each extruded strand and temperature each one is baked at. The ability to create uppers that look like Missoni knits with assembly-line costs is unprecedented.  Third they are light as fuck, so they are extremely comfortable and you can run a long time in them; since they actually fulfill an important athletic goal, they are popular with the tech-crowd.

Don't think this is that hard to see.

Just because they look different doesn't mean they look good.

I think I would understand the hype if they were attractive, unlike other Nikes and most athletic footwear in general. I can understand the tech-side of it if you are a runner but people are making comments like "they go with basically any outfit" when it just seems to me like they don't.

A collab with Missoni is actually a pretty cool idea. They should do that and not put that stupid fucking swoosh on them.
