Saving up a lot and then buying everything at once is a horrible idea, since there's just no way you will find "your style" at the first try. But since you've already saved up a fortune, I'd say get simple pieces that can be incorporated in a lot of different styles and don't cost a fortune (for example nice jeans, tees, a casual shirt or two, some simple sneakers like Common Projects, and some nice other pair of footwear). You will look fine just wearing this, but from this and from for example following the waywt-and best of waywt-thread you can try out more specific pieces and see what you like.

Also, since you do have quite a lot to spend, you should consider getting a TOJ leather-jacket before they close doors in a week or so, as you just won't be able to get the same level of quality at that pricepoint when they aren't around anymore.

Hopefully this was helpful, and welcome to the forum smile.gif

you can read through that but i'll echo the community in that you shouldn't spend all that money on clothes just because you can

Looking forward to this. I actually talked with him (extremely) briefly in Paris about what PPPP mentioned in his post / his buys and it'll be great to hear more.

I kinda agree with this, I think a nice quality leather jacket is something that's just aways a good thing to have. The white CPs for fall are really good. But in terms of jeans honestly I really like the fit Uniqlo jeans have, they're not really thick high quality denim but I like em. I think besides they one black boot one brown boot really go a long away but keep it simple with a nice shape and good quality and can fit many styles.

yeah uniqlo is great (love my t-000s), mostly meant "nice" in the sense that they should fit well

Thanks for all the comments - I've just been looking at some of the suggested brands and really like the common projects. Also Uniqlo don't stock jeans in a 28" waist, but I've ordered a pair of APC petit standards. Should I look for any other specific brands if they don't work out?

Pleasantville is seriously a great movie. The 50s hairstyles are a lot of fun too.

Any oxford shirts recs?

I pretty much have all Epaulet/WvG with a couple Uniqlo beaters. Kamakura looks very promising according to various reviews on PTO/the CM side of things/etc.

Uniqlo slim fits are great, and they go on sale semi-regularly. Decent construction, and shorter length than most other brands which is great for wearing untucked

WvG?

Epaulet only has 2 colors and none in my size, the Kamakura looks like a bargain.

I have been looking at The Bureau's house label, but the quality and fit is an unknown.

Blue and white are pretty much the only colors you need right? foo.gif

WvG = wolf vs goat.

Yeah, WvG:

White oxford
Other shirts

I have the white Japanese oxford and its blue counterpart. Feels like the same thick, beefy oxford cloth as my Thom Browne oxford, and since I'm part of the loyalty program, I got both shirts for less than what I paid for the Thom Browne.

Honestly it just depends on your style or what you feel you can comfortably wear or can see yourself in. Here's a couple theads that might be good checking out.
