The cos-jackets I've tried have all had a odd button-stance imo, similar to uniqlo ones (though if you're shorter I guess they could work nice)

Going to New York for the first time next week (24th to 28th). Give me places to go to try new food and see cool things. Home base is in tribeca. Going to moma and guggenheim for sure.

Only stores I know I want to go to are nepenthes, if soho, cdg, and uniqlo (gotta get them tees and undies). Any more suggestions? Consignment/thrift stores too.

I'm also heading to NYC, but in a month (for two weeks). Will probs check in on this thread about a week before to get good recs, especially on cheap tasty ethnic food and free shit to do. Also side trips and stores to visit (like the thought of consignment/thrift shops, didn't even think of that!)

Kaffe 1668 is one of my favorite coffee shops in the city, and it's right in Tribeca. I probably would not go out of my way, but since you're in the area you might as well check out Century 21.

Ha, sounds like you'll be there around the time I'll be in Portland (though I think you said you're not living there anymore)

oh sonofabitch! I'm right across the river in Vancouver, go to Portland every other day. When are you in Portland?

August 26-30. I'm going to be in LA the 24th and 25th for the FYF Festival (finally get to see My Bloody Valentine!), and then flying from there up to Portland and meeting my GF there.

Not to go all CM on you, but outside of a few arenas (tech and maybe academia) you don't really want to wear just a blazer to an interview. You should probably do a full suit. You could watch CM B&S. If you watch for a few weeks it's not uncommon to see deals on NWT suits from Ralph Lauren or Canali for around $500.

If you need to get something more quickly, though it would stretch your budget a little, look to Epaulet or Howard Yount.

Hit Bows with a PM, he'll give you a host of awesome places to eat. If you're style lines up with Nepenthes, you may also want to check out Freeman's Sporting Club or possibly Odin. Thought it's a bit uptown, you should probably check out Barneys and Bergdorf's just because they're the mothership.
