fellow Americans please do not reveal that our national mythology of "The West" and other such things marketed to rest of world are largely full of shit; that is supposed to stay just between us, thankyou.

I've been to rodeos, stock shows, hoedowns, cowboy bars, whatever - you have to really enjoy that shit in order to...enjoy it. I don't think it's that great. I don't find the culture fun, and I say this as someone who has a fairly sizeable fetish for western shit. The music is bad, the beer is terrible, the people are often (not always, of course!) narrow-minded, and farming is horrible. Rodeos are basically dependent on abusing animals, and even as a carnivore i cant say i enjoy watching terrified steers getting wrestled to the ground by men in plaid shirts. I have a particular distaste for barrel racing, actually. It's its own culture. Cowboy boots are pretty ugly, too. Just for the record, i have met a ton of really friendly cowboys as well, including a visitor from Kansas City in my local fly shop who wanted to know why I looked so familiar. He thought maybe I was a distant cousin.

OK well I haven't actually been to the USA, but I like the romanticism of it anyway.

You can't take that away.

dick.

jks.

The United States and the European Union, after nearly two years of preparation, start talks on Monday aimed at securing a free-trade agreement to squeeze new economic growth out of the world's largest trade and investment relationship.

Is it wrong that my first reaction to this was "if that goes through I can shop more from the States, yay!"? uhoh.gif

Does anyone have any experience with the web retailer farfetch?

They seem to be pretty shitty in terms of getting back to me through e-mails.

plebes. your bags don't have freestanding hovering capabilities?

I am aware, but my order didn't go through at all and still charged my Paypal.
I opened a dispute and they refunded my money, so all is good.

I used them a few months ago and had no issues, from ordering to refund. All went smoothly.

I've washed mine 3-4 times now. If they shrunk at all, it was very marginally. I hang dry
