Congrats to all who graduated this year, I know there are quite a few here!

I didn't like infinite. I did like "A murder of crows."

I just got a new phone and its got a video camera in it. I'm gonna be playing with it and take some short clips around town today and I'll post them later. Any places (stores, restau, etc) in Chicago you guys would like to see?

Got an official job offer today, feels great.

Salary is amazing. Baller, even. Maybe time to finally buy a second Tesla as an investment piece?

Will also allow me to work on my other projects, and of course, the benefits are crazy (6 weeks vacation, free food, etc.)

Signing the offer letter tomorrow, and then going to fly first class to Paris (France, of course) for dinner and back.

My first - and admittedly rash - response to the unironic use of the phrase "Pastel Power" is that the perpetrator should be eaten alive by jackals. This comes from a loving place, however.

In the future only pastel colors remain. This is not a war you can win.

in the pastel world, the colorblind man is king

I want to buy this book - Plant-Thinking: A Philosophy of Vegetal Life

The description:
Quote:
The margins of philosophy are populated by non-human, non-animal living beings, including plants. While contemporary philosophers tend to refrain from raising ontological and ethical concerns with vegetal life, Michael Marder puts this life at the forefront of the current deconstruction of metaphysics. He identifies the existential features of plant behavior and the vegetal heritage of human thought so as to affirm the potential of vegetation to resist the logic of totalization and to exceed the narrow confines of instrumentality. Reconstructing the life of plants "after metaphysics," Marder focuses on their unique temporality, freedom, and material knowledge or wisdom. In his formulation, "plant-thinking" is the non-cognitive, non-ideational, and non-imagistic mode of thinking proper to plants, as much as the process of bringing human thought itself back to its roots and rendering it plantlike.
