Random fashion thoughts - Page 5241

Trans-Mod thread is sort of interesting right now. Rambo started his own forum, used SF's PM system to solicit new members, and got booted from SF.

I realize this question will probably resort in Fumma telling me to read a book on Introductory Aesthetics, but does anybody have any good literature they could point me towards that talks about body ratio analysis? Basically I've been thinking about the need to assess the shape of one's body based on a series of measurements (head length, neck length, hip width, etc.). Using these measurements, a series of ratios could be derived that would help to compartmentalize (not the best word when talking about subjective style, but you get the idea) one's body type. Then one could draw upon a list of techniques specific to their own body type to highlight certain features and/or de-emphasize others.

Wasn't Rambo really irritating when he posted here anyway? I remember him being some sort of apologist/champion of Lands End and mostly talking a lot of shit.

Eh, he was pretty decent in the non-clothing related parts of SF. It's sort of interesting that of the top 50 posters on SF, I'll bet close to half post little or not at all in the clothing related sub-forums.

Try your local plastic surgeon's office.  the waiting room literature is prolly full of the shit your looking fer.  sure there are many like you whose insecurities publishing companies could feed off to produce shit like that.

RFT: I just hosted a group of Italians and was sort of embarrassed at how comfortable I've become never wearing a suit or even a sportscoat. I should probably look into Dries for that kind of thing I guess.

Just received my pair of Uniqlo Black waxed skinny jeans, expectations/reality below:

Expectations:
-flimsy, poplin-like fabric
-shitty wax coating that shone like faux leather in direct light
-bad fit a la the model on the site

Reality:
-Decently thick denim material, perfect mid season weight
-Perfect slim fit w/ 6.75" hems and just enough stretch to be comfy
-Somewhat rigid despite 2% spandex
-Waxing is really subtle, and actually adds a really nice depth/shade to the deep black

For $50, I'm fucking pumped!

Cheers man, exactly my experience with these. Only qualm is that they smell strange, but whatever.

The Alden thread users are calling each other by pretend family names now. What the hell.

Was one of the first threads I subscribed to when joining SF 18 months ago. Unsubscribed a month ago partly because of evolving interests, but mostly because of the creepy nonsense.

Felt good man.
