Southern California is okay. LA is a very big area. There are places there that are always bearable - Santa Monica and Long Beach, for example, but as you move inland, it gets oppressive, fast. iirc, jet live in Orange County, and it's pretty terrible for a good part of the year.

San Diego, on the other hand, is nearly always great weather. I used to live there for weeks at a time, on the beach, and it's rarely unbearably hot, and even when it is, the sea breeze kicks in in the early evening, which feels amazing.

I don't know where Regis lives in FL, but it's generally a cesspool, both in terms of weather and, well, everything else.

My wife grew up in the south. I had to go to Nashville, TN, in June, and I'm telling you, that's the object in my "I will do anything for love, but I won't do that." I should have known, since I was made to go there, again during a heatwave, to an outdoor late afternoon wedding for her cousin. I am pretty sure that the bride, or maybe the groom, just hate people and life in general. I used to have to cut weight to fight, and I think that I lost more water during that wedding than I have wearing a garbage bag, running on a treadmill. She also grew up in Arkansas, which is a complete dump, oh, and hot and full of rednecks. And Houston. Oh man. I was forced to go to a wedding in Houston. I don't believe that that suit has ever really recovered. Turns out, there is no such thing as tropical wool. There are no sheep in the tropics. Think about it.

Of course, I grew up in Canada, and if it got above 80, we thought that we might die. No, my favorite seasons are spring, when the birds start to sing, and fall, which, imo, is thinking man's weather. And winter? I'll take snow and ice over death by boiling inside any day.

I live in Arkansas :/ pretty much true, though. It sucks here. I'm in a spa town with lots of nature and healing waters and that shit, plus it's full of art and hipsters so it's not too podunk so i manage

I spent a lot of summer time doing field work for the Geological Survey. If there's a hell, it can't be worse than working for 6 hours in a Georgia summer surrounded by literal clouds of mosquitoes and hordes of ticks. I actually developed a real nasty case of eczema because of all the bug bites, and I still have scars/bumps that haven't quite healed and this was maybe about a year ago now?

But yeah, if I'm anywhere near water during the day or out past late afternoon, it's long sleeves and pants no matter how hot it is. By the time mid-late May rolls around, I'm not even thinking about how I look anymore, I'm just trying to stay alive.

A cesspool? Educate yourself on Palm Beach, Florida sir (Every state has a cesspool in one way or another though)

I will have to agree that Miami is a cesspool, but I still love it and I love Florida, best place to live and grow up in my opinion. I left my heart on a little island called St. Maarten though, kind of a second home
