She's great! This is an excellent LP, and it's an ECM title so it should be relatively cheap (I got mine for $5) and easy to find:

Boulder theater must have been a good show.

Yeah. I know that guy.

Honest question: what is the draw of the awkward 2.5 roll SC that everyone in MC is posting? Like, not quite a trad 3 roll 2, but with enough curve to the lapel above the middle button that I want to reach out and tug the lapels flat. Is this something that I'm simply too uncultured to understand? It just seems to end up making people look blockier and longer( like oddly extended) than they would otherwise. What am I missing? I am too embarrassed to post over there. I don't want to get foo.gif'd

I'd say it's current MC rennaissance is the continuing backlash against sharp, angular 2 dimensional tailoring. Natural fabrics that swell, drape, and roll have been in for awhile. I like it on most people. I don't think you're a philistine if you don't like it though

Like a lot of other arguably gimmicky tailoring details it gets extra appeal for being esoteric and less-easy-to-find for awhile, like patch pockets, etc. Especially on cheap suiting

Is there a reason it's favored over a two button with an equally luscious curve? I mean, is it bologneopolitalian or something special that only g, as opposed to tomfordian or preptrad? I guess the whys and wherefores of suiting are pretty lost on me. I don't think the roll itself looks bad, and I like a low buttoning point, but it looks a bit like a vestigial pinky toe that's in the process of falling off. softer shoulders, pagoda shoulders, thick fabrics and sturdy construction I think I'm okay with. Is it sprezz?

Your problem is with the button?

The Italian brands that have been carrying the standard for this sorta thing (Boglioli, Lubiam, etc.) have been showing more 2-button jackets than 3 the last couple of seasons, in my limited observation.

Where's GDL?

"Take Damir Doma, a 31-year-old Croatia-born designer who worked with Belgian designer Raf Simons, now at LVMH’s Christian Dior. His brand’s parent recently sold a 5 percent stake to Bernd Beetz, former chief executive of Coty who is still the board of the perfume and cosmetics maker. And the designer has attracted the attention of another big name — Concetta Lanciaux, former adviser to LVMH CEO Bernard Arnault, who built her reputation on her ability to spot talent and who sits on Damir Doma’s board.

“I think designers are opening up their capital earlier now because they understand that it allows them to grow faster,” Lanciaux said, adding that Doma was for her a “modern Armani”.

Hm, I didn't mean to get snarky. I guess I don't know what my problem is. Maybe just the way it makes the torso look? I can't pretend to know a thing about it, though, so thanks for the insight.
