Tim Coppens isn't really my thing but whenever I see any in person I'm always impressed with the design, including fabric/trim choices, and how well-made it looks. There are some exceptions here and there (can be over designed sometimes), but generally I think it looks very good. Bit too techno-sporty for me personally though.
Saw some of the new Yohji stuff too and was really not feeling it. Outside of the runway context it looks very clownish. Well, the hyper colorful stuff anyway. Kind of a raver-clown thing.
that's disappointing to hear. saw these ones as well ? they seem easy to wear and the color is great for me
hmmm...not sure if I did see those. the stuff I saw was at Barney's. those are on the site, but I don't recall them from the store. did see these, though, and these. saw a bunch of the tanks and tees, too.
i was looking at a bunch of very nice stuff from dries and ann, and then you look at yohji and the colors are kinda garish and there's this deliberate hobo vibe (evident in the fake rips in the tanks, for instance), plus these very, very loud balloon pants. the yohji stuff I really like is full of clever details, not the over-the-top stuff so much (like spring 2011). the hakama pants were kind of an exception to that, since they're pretty out there. but the shapes and colors of these balloon pants just don't look good to me. raver-clown is really what comes to mind, unfortunately.
i should head over to atelier, though. i'm sure their buy will be the complete opposite of barney's
i know there's a hair thread somewhere else on this forum, but i feel like there should be a swd specific one. i don't really go anywhere but here and the marketplace. i guess hair products are pretty universal to both mc and swd users, but actual haircut preferences are probably pretty different, so separating that aspect at least seems logical. i've said this before, though
