Japanese shoegaze is OK.

Japanese noise/stoner is still the pinnacle.

This is still the greatest album I've ever heard:

Nice! I really loved that Boris album too.

One of my favorite J-Shoegaze albums has to be:

Presuming you're a Mono fan? (not shoegaze, but definitely Japanese!)

Man, I can't remember what that album sounds like, I'll have to re-check.

Thoughts on the new MBV?

Hoodie Allen:

what the fuck, kindofyoung?

suburbanwhite rap like this, Macklemore, Mac Miler, Childish Gambino, etc. needs to eat shit and die. Their popularity is lost on me. The only white rapper doing good things right now is Action Bronson, I think.

Old pic, and definitely not one of his best tracks

But arguing about music online is, as I have said before, kinda pointless

I will continue to listen to him and think that what he has accomplished is really cool, but if you don't like him I won't try and convince you about it smile.gif

edit: mac miller isn't good though, that I agree with

For the last six weeks I've listened to nothing but old Built to Spill CDs and Francoise Hardy on vinyl, what do I win?

re: Danny Brown talk, a girl I work with who is very very attractive met DB when he played in Kansas City, hooked up with him, and then a few weeks later he flew her out to his show in Vegas...where she got too drunk/high and passed out in a hot tub with the water running in DB's hotel room and cost him $1000's in damages to the hotel room

Also, since I pretty much parrot most of what Teger says, he's totally correct about Tupac and all things related to late 80's early 90's rap. There's a reason Dr. Dre used all those great soul and R&B samples, it made great music.

this is funny because even if you think gambino is corny you clearly haven't listened to enough gambino to even understand the point of most of his songs.

You win a gold statue of Jason Schwartzman on a small marble pedestal affixed with a plaque engraved "music used to be cool"

as much as I'm a fan of the music talk, there's a thread that needs more subscribers/discussion

I've been bumping a ton of Main Attracktionz.

There was a Spin article back about up and coming R&B artists and i made a spotify playlist and i've just been listening to a lot of that. Miguel, Frank Ocean (duh) The Weeknd (duh), BJ The Chicago Kid (highly recommended), Dawn Richard, Elle Varner, Inc., etc.
