There are plenty of good rappers on that poll, but none of 'em are ahead. And a good bit of the comments are .

Terrrible, terrible, terrible list. The only one that possibly deserves it would be Slick Rick and even he takes a clear backseat to many of his contemporaries. Mos Def could have been up there if he decided to make hip hop post-BOBS instead of his ill advised rock/soul/whatever the fuck that was route he went on for awhile. And no, his new album isn't that great.

OK we're done. A fashion thought: I actually like most of the stuff I get thrift/second hand better than boring mall brand basics (j crew/h&M etc.) Thrifting is underrated.

Has something like this been done in menswear?

Maybe it's just the fact that I live in Portland, OR but I think thrifting is incredibly overrated.

+1

I don't mind the concept of thrifting... but it's popularity is annoying as hell.

Portland= dirty hipster
Eugene= dirty hippies

But I don't mind the idea of thrifting, but you can only see one kind of style so much before it feels completely played out.

I think so, though it depends on what exactly you mean. Certainly gauzy, transparent draping which frames certain pieces has been done. Though I can't think of designers who have done that kind of thing with patterns recently...You've posted that before haven't you? What show is that...? You may have more luck getting a substantial answer on SZ. Or from someone who actually knows what they're talking about.

On another note, the college essentials thread is sad/embarrassing and I feel like any contribution I could possibly make would most likely be fruitless.

It would be nice to see other guys and girls stylin when I went out but all I see is oversized blazers, shirts out, TRs and goofy loafers. I don't know how most tailors survive here seems hardly anyone uses them. There will be that random gay guy wearing a waist coat or whatever thinkin he's stylin on everyone it's embarrassing. Even most of the girls wear tacky shit.
