Do it. I'm probably going to grab a pair this spring! I think they look pretty cool. Wear them with dries and ann and stuff, you know?

RFT, how do you guys wear blazers in this?

My coat doesn't really fit over them comfortably.

Want to get pair of B&N white hi's but will take another 1-2 days before the money has transferred from the bank to paypal, and they can't hold a pair for me until I've payed frown.gif
If anyone has ~200$ on their paypal they wouldn't mind lending out for a maximum of 2 days I would be immensely grateful (pm if you do, asap)

First of all, don't apologize for being a dick. I hate that shit. There are guys who call me out regularly (Brad-T, Fuuma are the obvious culprits), but if you have a good point, I respect that.

Maybe I should make myself more clear. I cover all sorts of stuff, and have people cover all sorts of stuff, in which I'm not personally all the interested (I'm over here most of the time, but we cover a lot of Classic menswear stuff, which I appreciate, but don't ever buy - all the Attolini, Belvest, and Barba stuff I own dates back close to a decade,) but I refuse to cover someone's pseudo intellectual masturbatory bullshit.

There is a wide range of stuff people are interested in in SWD. I'll cover White Mountaineering. I'll cover Tim Coppens. I'll cover Stephan Schneider and Frank Leder (whose lookbook for FW12 is hilarious - Monitaly and Yuketen did a similar narrative style lookbook) and so on. I'll cover Belvest, and Japanese accessories with laquered linings and Edward Greens. I actually don't always cover the stuff in which I am personally interested. Sometimes, there is really no story there, so we might get a few shots and move on.

I also don't do everything myself. I bring a group which represents a cross section of the forum, and split assignments based on knowledge and interests. The reason that I picked Rach as the 'SWD" representative, apart from his being super reliable and a mature writer is that he really has a deep understanding of fashion history that goes well beyond the trends of the last five years.

If I feel that there is real value, I can be persuaded to cover all sorts of things.

I get cold so I'm wearing a heattech + denim shirt + ervell knit + dana lee chunky blazer + wool W+H coat + cashmere scarf + hat shog[1].gif

Normally I would also try to incorporate a uniqlo ultra-light down in there too but it went missing a few weeks ago..

I get really, really cold redface.gif

And the weird thing is I love winter sports more than anything and with the proper gear for that I'm fine (obviously).  I just feel the need to wrap myself up like Randy in A Christmas Story to get around NYC.

I think it's just that your coat is really slim and your blazers have slightly stronger shoulders than what is typical for people that tend to wear a coat over a blazer (more generously sized coat and unstructured  shoulders)

Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)

My coat doesn't really fit over them comfortably.

You could more than likely get away with a heavier blazer (tweed/flannel) with a sweater underneath.

What you have is probably not a proper overcoat then. You need a range of coats. Some of them are meant to be worn with knits, but you actually need dedicated overcoats that are meant to be worn over sportsjackets, which will look like shit if you aren't wearing a jacket underneath. So, it's not going to be particularly versatile, but it might be a necessary part of your wardrobe.

this too. I just have a hard time justifying things that aren't versatile in my tiny closet in my tiny apartment.

Also, trading a pair of shoes for this forum/community and a proxy-business doing alright would be beyond stupid

Depends on your "look", I guess. Unstructured jackets are the trend de jour. Anyone from Acne to Barena to Attachment to RRL to Luciano Barbera to MA+ have unstructured "blazers". So, pretty much anywhere. If you look on Yoox, you'll see tons of them.
