I was going to post almost the exact same thing (e.g. not knowing what the hell the sentence meant), but assumed I am just not white enough to decode it.

Looks like cuffing jeans has jumped the shark; I just saw some guy walk by with cuffs on his baby blue WalMart dad jeans. My professor teaching this class is doing it too.

So the answer to my question "Who makes women's knockoff Marant/MMM style sneakers?" is "Literally any store that sells women's shoes."

Showed those to my gf and she shot them down because she's been seeing similar shoes everywhere lately and thinks they're just a trend and wants to stick with "classic and timeless" stuff. foo.gif

I think there's a correlation between her resistance to most things not "timeless or classic" and her disliking most of her clothes within months of buying them.

Buying shoes for women is scary. I stick to dumb jewelry or sappy cards or scarves or like, homemade french toast. Make her french toast, dude. Or tacos. That would woo the shit out of me.

I just remembered something kind of amusing: a couple weeks ago at a party I ran into this super east coast, old money kind of guy that I used to live with, and so he looked at the cardigan I was wearing (something I got from UO years ago; I've worn it in some fits here) and told me that it was "definitely an investment piece." For some reason people in real life tend to say really, really befuddling things to me about clothes.

Inward/reverse cuffing will be the next big thing.

Last winter when I was wearing my white bless hoodcoat I was walking down these spiral steps and this old lady who was walking in front of me turns around and said that she liked my coat a lot because it made me very mysterious

EDIT: The site really does have some good playlists (albeit with goofy names): www.songza.com

I pat her on the head and rang the gong behind me and held her hand as we slowly sifted through the sands of cosmic wonder and we totally had some space tea and talked about impermanence
