Many of my housemates—and a ton of other people I know—worship him. It's fucking bewildering.

Ever get the feeling that we live in the Bizarro World, and that the regular world is in some alternate dimension?

White people.

I live in Seattle. You have no idea how bad it is. No. Idea.

People tell me I look like Macklemore, solely because

a) I have red hair
b) The sides of my head are cut much shorter than the top
c) I wear clothes outside of the mainstream

I can't stand the macklemore praise. Thankfully I moved out of Seattle so I don't have to sit back and watch people drink the Kool Aid.

Thrift Shop has a damn good (read: catchy) backing track, which is why its so popular. And Wanz has a sick voice. There's 3 other songs of his that I quite like. The rest is decent enough for being hiphop/rap.

Then again, I like Childish Gambino, so I have non-SF approved music tastes.

I like macklemore 

 

But seriously, I think very often people take music way too seriously, atleast when we're talking music that's constantly played on the radio

With classical music and music that's considered "art" and "masterpieces"discussions are natural, just like with any other kind of art. 

But with the music played on the radio, you're most often wasting your time trying to explain or convince someone why you are more "right" than them, since it's just "entertainment music" and people like what they like

 

tl;dr

Lengthy discussions about "entertainment music" are kinda pointless

Oh trust me, I do know—I go to school in the Boston-area after all, and Boston can be obnoxious as hell.

Macklemore also has some song about Irish pride; kids at school here go fucking nuts for it because there's still some ridiculously overblown sense of "Irish pride" even though that just means drinking a shit ton of Guinness and singing shanties.

I thought that was Diplo...
