Interesting article on why high heels used to be considered masculine rather than generally feminine as is now the case. Makes sense.

sup gender norms

God, there's this amazing Persian rug store right by Frances May in Portland, just stacks on stacks on 2-300 year old legit Persian pieces. So freaking cool, but even the smallest ones run like a grand+

My house is gonna be decked out in rugs some day

rug tip: if you need a smaller rug, go to a larger rug warehouse type place and ask if they have any roll remainders - you can get a huge discount, and they'll cut to your space and finish the edges

this is cool to imagine, but my grandparents' house was like this and it's really not that great. they collect dust, cost a fortune to clean, and they suck all the light out of a room. reclaimed wood floors for life.

You mean carpet remnants or rugs teger? Although same idea probably applies.

either/or.

i'm trying to find a rug for my living room. it's a weird shaped space and i don't want to spend more than $150, probably gonna buy something from loewe's. they have some surprisingly decent kandinsky-esque abstract stye rugs.

thats all well and good but in the UK its some halfassed mix of the two, way more confusing.

use a bit of metric and a bit of stone/lbs for measuring weight, all american standard for distance (miles, MPH), but for shorter distances we use metric (like cm, meters, etc)

Where would I look for an authentic Persian piece for less than a fortune? Other than antique shops?

Estate sales or Craigslist or some shit?
estates sales if you don't have someone to bring one back for you
i think there's a thread on SF about that just found it but they have interesting tastes in there ...

Wow, the SS Kilim shirt is dope, did not expect the fabric to be this substantial, or the fit to be as spot on as it is satisfied.gif
