My indigo raws have faded to a boring color, just standard blue jeans. Kinda bright in sunlight and with some decent fades. This color is kinda hard against black and I don't like it very much. I liked them when they were near black.

Black or gray raws best to wear with mostly black outerwear?

Also, good experiences with artist denim? want high rise APC PS without PNS saggy ass.

Question: what exactly causes pocket-flare in trousers? is it usually because there is too much or too little fabric in a particular area on the pant? can a tailor fix that up?

Too little fabric and it's pulling. A tailor might be able to fix it if there's material to let out, or you might need to go up a size.

yeah going to bleach the indigo ones for summer.

Also possible to get pocket flare if waist is too big and you wear a belt. The front button slides down and you get a zipper-boner that can extend to pockets.

Too tight in the waist. If there is material to let out, a tailor can take care of it pretty simply. You want to watch for the separation of back pockets (if any are present) - too much letting out in the waist can spread the back pockets too far apart and make them look bad.
