Sigh, friend's cat peed on my dry-clean only geller zip jacket.

Took to dry cleaners, still smelled like cat pee.

Heard of apple cider vinegar and sprayed it, then took back to dry cleaners.

Left it outside for a couple of days.

Smells like cat pee and apple cider vinegar, but a bit less like cat pee.

I hate cats now...censored.gif baldy[1].gif

Any ideas on what to do? frown.gif

Get new friends? (7). I've used a mixture of vodka and water and sprayed it on clothes and let them dry outside to remove some odors. Also, dryer sheets rubbed on clothes can work, and sometimes putting things in the freezer can help with smells too.

I would rename you to catdrew.

Not sure about the jacket.

Thanks! I'll try that out

This jacket might be declared dead if this doesn't work though uhoh.gif

What I've done and suggest to remove/reduce cigarette smoke from clothes:
  • hang your jacket with one of those dry cleaning plastic sleeves over it
  • put a cup of coffee grounds in the bottom and tape shut
  • leave for a couple days, then open/remove coffee grounds carefully

You could probably use filter charcoal instead of coffee grounds too, but I happen to have coffee grounds lying around on a regular basis. Good luck.

Why haven't you peed on your geller yet? Reestablish your dominance!

To remove smells I usually just stuff it with a bunch of dryer sheets and let him hang for a couple of days. Worked with smoke and the terrible smell from re-waterproofing my MA-1.

And if nothing else, after trying all of these your jacket will smell like piss, vodka, and coffee grounds; which is how all clothes should smell after a proper weekend bender
