Did anybody else read the news about the crazy guy on bath salts walking around Baltimore in a blanket last night raving at all and sundry about Marjelly?

Anyway it makes me wonder, is this the type of member the forum prefers to attract for commercial reasons?

This would turn the banner in an hmmm ad.

We had a very concrete goal of making the SW&D a picture of someone showing really individual panache, and I don't see much better than that around here. Yes, we could have show someone wearing slim chinos, Aldens, and a Rick Owen's jacket (Namor?), or a pair of Margiela sidezips, but why? Streetwear and Denim is, at it's best, about people doing their own thing, well. The very fact that people are complaining that the picture is not "SWD enough" makes me happy. Right now, I'm thinking "Fuck yeah. We're making people at least think about what is SWD."

Well it's not that...

A good photo showing a bunch of different folded clothing pieces and textures could be good, no styling at all.
Maybe we can do a contest thing where photos with the most thumbs gets to be the splash?

I'm definitely not adverse to entries. But deciding things essentially by committee, I have a ROFLcopter for that.

If everyone loves it, and it's stunning, that would be awesome. On the other hand, I've seen plenty of stuff the a lot of people like, and just sucks. Taste is, like intelligence and athletic ability, just not evenly distributed.

^ people are just nit-picking, new SF looks great and the user experience is better. Thanks for clearing out the clutter.

If people's only complaints are (1) thumb comments and (2) the SWD photo, you can pat yourself on the back.

I will never understand mc's affinity towards square toe shoes

and why the fuck does everything in the epaulet, trickers, alden threads look brand new?

Individual panache and we get a #menswear reblog with a lime green shirt and pink dots? Gross!

Individual panache? Why not Moo?

Yeah, I mean we don't have to do it by thumbs because then Stanley will win. But I think it would be cool to have a thread where users submit pics, would make a neat little dimension of community interaction. I get what you guys are doing but that particular image is just...yuck. I really like the menswear one; the macro of the ties fits those neurotic old timers perfectly.

Just got my Schneider leather collar bomber in the mail today, and it is one of the coolest things I've ever owned, and fits perfectly. That is all.

Maybe I'm dumb but this really doesn't make any sense to me. Might as well put a pic of a ballerina then.

Not that I really mind the pic but it feels like a very 'classic menswear'-centric vision of streetwear (switch the fabrics a bit, frayed pocketsquare don't care, whoah crazy pattern shirt, look at those colors ! etc etc).

Very few people in SWD dress like that. The aforementioned Tirailleur and, well, that´s it. Some MC guys drop by to post fits, SVB puts on a suit, but it doesn´t really represent this forum. And if the idea is to do something different, why not put do the same on MC (or CM, as it´s called now). Change the pic with ties for something else.
