We had a very concrete goal of making the SW&D a picture of someone showing really individual panache, and I don't see much better than that around here. Yes, we could have show someone wearing slim chinos, Aldens, and a Rick Owen's jacket (Namor?), or a pair of Margiela sidezips, but why? Streetwear and Denim is, at it's best, about people doing their own thing, well. The very fact that people are complaining that the picture is not "SWD enough" makes me happy. Right now, I'm thinking "Fuck yeah. We're making people at least think about what is SWD."

I'm definitely not adverse to entries. But deciding things essentially by committee, I have a ROFLcopter for that.

If everyone loves it, and it's stunning, that would be awesome. On the other hand, I've seen plenty of stuff the a lot of people like, and just sucks. Taste is, like intelligence and athletic ability, just not evenly distributed.

Yeah, I mean we don't have to do it by thumbs because then Stanley will win. But I think it would be cool to have a thread where users submit pics, would make a neat little dimension of community interaction. I get what you guys are doing but that particular image is just...yuck. I really like the menswear one; the macro of the ties fits those neurotic old timers perfectly.

Just got my Schneider leather collar bomber in the mail today, and it is one of the coolest things I've ever owned, and fits perfectly. That is all.

Not that I really mind the pic but it feels like a very 'classic menswear'-centric vision of streetwear (switch the fabrics a bit, frayed pocketsquare don't care, whoah crazy pattern shirt, look at those colors ! etc etc).

Very few people in SWD dress like that. The aforementioned Tirailleur and, well, that´s it. Some MC guys drop by to post fits, SVB puts on a suit, but it doesn´t really represent this forum. And if the idea is to do something different, why not put do the same on MC (or CM, as it´s called now). Change the pic with ties for something else.
