I want to learn to make pants/ trousers because most of the nice pairs that I find are either really boring or doesn't feel substantial/ have a good fit/ pricing is insane...

Exactly, they have two things I'd consider buying. Problem with them is that there's always something off and often times they incorporate a wtf detail that makes the item worse than if they left such detail out.

There really is nothing nowadays that is gangster as fuck so I've had to recalibrate the scale a bit to account for this.

Saw the quilted MA-1 at Brigade today, didn't even realize it was W+H at first, looked very nice. Would consider buying something but it seems like their prices have really gone up.

I don't get how this is different than any other brand, though. Seems like most of my favorite things -- Lanvin or Margiela sneakers, W + H anti-fits, etc. -- are singular items from brands that also make some really ridiculous shit with quality all over the map -- yet people continue to single out W + H, for some reason.

Which was why there was a question mark at the end of the sentence -_-.  Ann used to go out of her way to make everything in belgium, though this hasn't been the case in awhile I think.

On the w+h tip they also get cred for being pretty much the only people able to have dayton turn out a proper batch of boots. Love my service boots.

Anyone have a recommendation for a decent black shawl collar cardigan?

Any opinions on Steven Alan shirts, and how they compare in sizing to GBV (the Collegiate shirt, in particular)?

fit is baggy, especially in the waist.

what are your measurements? neck size?

Steven Alan is shit. I used to have some shirts a few years ago-- don't know if it's changed, but back then it was pretty much J. crew for double the price.

I have a chambray shirt I got for like.. $20? in B&S that's ok. it's kind of big on me, but is a nice change up. I wear it maybe once a month.

I basically am looking for a GBV medium fit, but a little slimmer, maybe a little shorter, and higher armholes. They're on sale at the SA site for about $60, but it sounds like that's not even such a great deal.

This isn't true of all brands, Schneider stands out. Generally his collections as a whole are pretty memorable and good (at least FW), very nice fabrics, outerwear and knits are definite strengths and even basic shirts/trousers are interesting. I would also argue that Geller is pretty similar too; his collections often have a wide variety of what's "good"...jackets, blazers, pants, shirting.

It's easy to single out W+H because it's much more accessible than Lanvin or Margiela, many more people have handled/owned a wider variety of W+H. Both Lanvin and Margiela suffer from the same problem lately.

Yeah definitely not worth it at $60. Do you not like Gitman fit? I find that differtent fabrics are better than others, fit wise. I stay away from Gitman oxfords but their more interesting fabrics like flannel/chambray/linens often feel better/are a bit slimmer.
