I went to the local UPS center to pick up the package and the woman tells me that I might want to check it because "it was a little wet". So, I open the package right in front of her and the jacket inside was soaking wet. Instead of returning it as damaged, the fuckers were just going to say that I refused it, making the return my fault rather than theirs.

why are all courier services fucking criminals
post #70175 of 100932
^All I know is, they are at least really fucking lazy. Although, I have been very happy with USPS. They even have a separate guy delivering packages so I don't have to wait until 4pm when my mail arrives.

Can anyone recommend a good alternative to Gitman VB shirts? Preferably, they would be a little slimmer, have a smaller collar, made from hearty oxford cloths, and not be ridiculously priced.

In the same price range I've heard good things about brooklyn tailors and ledbury, might want to consider a mtm shirt from cottonwork or another such site.

Brooklyn Tailors does look nice, but just as expensive as GBV. I would consider Our Legacy if I could figure out how their different shirts fit.

Cottonwork and Ledbury are too dressy.

uniqlo?

i feel like our legacy is just as expensive as gitman. not many quality shirts in 75-100 usd range.

I'm not a fan of the OL shirt cuts especially the 1950s

What about Baron Wells? Only issue is the collar might be TOO small

edit: also made in USA if that matters,

Uniqlo is too plain. OL 1940's fit looks to be narrower in the shoulders and wider in the chest than GBV patch[1].gif

Hmm, yeah I remember looking at Baron Wells before. Maybe I will give them a try. The sleeves look a little short? (Actually, the measurements look good but I think I would have to size up one)

Returning to family+rft: my brother and my father now each own a pair of raw denim, but it's funny since they both find whatever excuse they can to not wear them. They just don't have the same will-to-power when it comes to breaking in stiff jawnz.

edit: it's also amusing that I'm helping my brother pick out what to wear. Earlier today he had on some not-so-attractive jeans, a lavender button-up, and some brogues. Convinced him to swap out everything for: the new jeans, a mint ocbd tucked away in his closet, and a pair of PF Flyers. Looked way better. But when the fiancée got back from doing some errands, the first thing she said was, "but that's not a winter shirt!" Confused, I replied that it was probably warmer than the button-up he had on earlier... and then I realized that she was referring to the color of the shirt. And then I did this:

because apparently people still think that wearing pastel colors (or, e.g., white jeans) in the winter is something that you just don't do.

Dammit. Maybe Epaulet, although their collars look even taller than Gitmans. WvG, not going there.
