I think Synth or SVB talked about it in the DIY thread. IIRC Synth just put his in a bucket of bleach/water, SVB ran it thru the wash a few times with bleach.

I've been asked about this via PM a couple times now, so here is the sum of the answers I've given:

there wasn't really any trick to it and I did actually get some bleach spots in a couple places. They just don't show as they're on the inside of the left leg. So watch out for that, as that can happen.

I used a washing machine. Ran it once with a minimal amount (maybe a cup), along with standard laundry detergent, didn't see much difference, so I ran it again with a lot of bleach. I didn't measure at all, but I'd just say go for it, hard to mess this up. Worst thing that happens is you end up with super-light jeans.

If your first try doesn't do much, that will tell you how much bleach you can really put in without worrying -- it's a lot.

I haven't had any issues with damaging the fabric, the jeans still feel just as tough and strong as they did before. It probably helps to wash and dry them so that any remaining bleach gets washed out.

I'm trying to find a hat like that Number (N)ine Preacher hat for my girlfriend. Anyone have any tips on finding one? Or even if there's another name for that style of hat?

And you threw them into the machine inside-out I'm guessing?

That version of the preacher hat looks like an unshapped hat blank, though it looks like it was lightly pressed and shaped around the brim.

This happened to me over the summer when I had literally never been poorer, and a pair of Raf black derbies in 42 popped up on Gilt for something ludicrous like $200. I was sad for like a month over that one hahaha

Yeah also hate the feeling of wanting something for so long, then finally being able to get the item to realize it's a piece of shit in terms of quality and fit. Thankfully Yoox is so easy to retur

noobish question:
Any input on indigo jeans with black leather sneakers? How faded is too faded for it too look decent? How black is too black, how much does it help to have white rubber soles etc.? Pretty much looking for loads of fits of different indigo jeans with black sneakers so I can see where I think the limit is. Asking because I want to find a good replacement or supplementation to blacked out vans slip ons, and thinking white is just too bright. Also thinking about getting overdyed-ish jeans...
