I have a secret desire for a button-up hoodie (uh.. cardigan with a hood not a shawl collar)....

For the longest time, I wasn't really into chunky knits. Or cardigans, really.

However, after getting the buttons replaced on this +J Cardigan, i've seen the light.

Is this CDGH+ shirt still available anywhere in a L?

Everyone that can get away with it should own a pair of crepe soled shoes for the office. My Wallabees are so squishy and soft

I love the look of chunky cardigans. Just want a hood and not a shawl collar. I'll be 40 this year, thanks. wink.gif

Hrm, this James Perse looks very much like what I want: http://www.werd.com/12730/james-perse-knit-hooded-cardigan/

Can anyone point me towards an affordable flat brim fedora type hat? I've seen lovely versions from Yohji, CDG, Lanvin, NN, etc, but I'm looking for some more affordable alternatives

a lot of reinhard hats are malleable and meant to be reshaped by wearer as seen fit. he uses some interesting fabrics/treatments too. i don't know what affordable is, still expensive in my opinion but less than retail for any of the lines you listed. may not be perfectly flat though!

Soulland has a pretty decent looking one:

Thanks you two. I'll look into both, but at first pass the brims seem a bit stingy, no?

Yeah, I would prefer a wider brim but that one just came to mind, I don't really know of any wide brim fedoras at that price, and the material looks pretty nice on that soulland one. Reinhard ones look great too!

Also, TW, just curious about how your wallabees gel with your yohji clothes, are the two completely incongruous or do they look nice?

I've actually never tried them out with any of my baggier clothes. Truth be told I wear mostly biz. casual when I'm in the office during the week. The yohji is for weekends and days off smile.gif

I have pretty varied needs when it comes to clothing, so I tend to build little mini wardobes around certain looks rather than trying to make everything mesh. Versatility works well for some people, but it's too much of a headache to find stuff that is suited to the office, our farm (did I mention I live on a farm?), and downtown/city art scene stuff

Don't stop with the fashunz. Enthusiasts at fedora lounge or MC's Thift Bragging thread should be able to point you to some quality affordable options.
