You've gone off on some tangent about business and blah-di-blah without understanding what I'm saying.
Do you think I have a problem with people running a profitable business???
No. I'm speaking from the point of view of the fashion consumer. As far as I'm concerned, everyone is the bad guy to me. As a fashion consumer I would like to get bang for my buck. If that's discounted H&MMM or whatever, so be it. I would just prefer that I'm buying it because of design and quality and price. H&M do not need to pay for a collab for those features.

this is some strange logic and I don't know if anyone else here shares it with you...

anyway I don't think H&M could have ripped those designs off wholesale - there would've been an uproar and a lawsuit, even if they would've eventually won it still wouldn't have looked good for them.

Forever21 was hit with a shitload of lawsuits for plagiarism but they're still doing well. Most, if not all, of the consumers who buy fast fashion buy it BECAUSE the designs are copied off the runway... That's like the entire point of fast fashion...

i think there's copying and then there's "copying" you know? like, if you go to a f21 or H&M none of the stuff is exactly identical - it's all "inspired by" (closely copied). the MMM pieces are so distinctive that it'd just be bad business. we also don't know how the f21 lawsuits will play out or if the fashion copyright lobbyists will ever get something going. if this collab has shown us anything too it's that there's just not a huge demand for margiela coats from 7 seasons ago - at least compared to the demand for poly blend cropped riding pants (I've been to an H&M recently frown.gif)

This.
You guys realize most lawyers don't make big money, right? It's a pretty shitty choice if your intent is to make a ton of $$$.

You must be trolling or seriously misinformed.

They could have exact copied, as often happens.

Anyway, look at the collection. It's not an exact copy is it?

I've done my research and am aware of job trends/salaries for legal grads right now, it's dire but better than it was several years ago. I'm also aware that I basically have to get into a T14 and graduate somewhere near the top to secure any good prospect, which is what I'm planning to do (given that I didn't bomb my LSAT yesterday).

And yea, I actually have no idea what a synapse is lol

honestly if you want an awesome career look into higher education administration. all those deans and provosts make like $300k a year (if not more), work 15 hours a week and have a big staff of interns and associates who write everything for them.

He's not asking though.

Pretty sure he should just do what he really wants to do.

A law degree is not a bad thing to have anyway.
