I kinda want to get back into raw denim, but only repro cuts and the excessive japanese nerd fabrics and details.

It was pretty cool, actually, even though we only caught the second half of the show.  Somehow both less and more psychedelic than I went in expecting.  It was strange being pretty sober there while everyone around me was tripping balls, and I was feeling a bit weird since some food poisoning was about to set in.

If they come back to town I'd say I would give it a shot again for sure though. The energy was good and you could tell everyone there was very passionate about what was going on, even though they were all in their own little world instead of it being more of a collective experience that most concerts are.  The encore was a really great jam session though that lasted for a while and was a good diversion from the poppy-fun-ness of the main set.

I tried to get back into the raw game, but in the end decided that one very faded pair of APCs would do me fine, feels good man

Some of the captions the guy behind You Have Broken the Internet attaches to some of his Tumblr images makes him sound like a potential rapist or at least a bit of a skeeze.

^Dude makes nice pictures but you have to tolerate mediocre, typeset inspirational quotations and the occasional sourcing debacle if you follow him. Oh and the thirst

speaking of Unionmade I'm just catching up on this Gawker kerfuffle and while my opinions aren't entirely in line with Gawker's rationale, I did find the statement by the store somewhat intellectually dubious:

Quote:

There have been customers that take issue with the store's name and we certainly understand and respect their opinion, though by and large the majority of our customers understand the use of the name as an overarching narrative of the store. This being that we strive to carry well-made items that will age well in regard to both wear from use and stylistically

Unionmade = "an overarching narrative"? Really? It's definitely not their fault if sourcing quality garments from union sources has become so tough, but for them to explain that they can just use a fairly clear-cut expression as a wooly word that appeals to their customers and KIM makes their whole argument a little specious in my mind.

Agreed. I just wish he'd get a girlfriend or laid or whatever will make him stop the creepy "talking" to the women in the pics he posts.

I didn't see anything wrong with that list.

In fact, I thought it was one of the better ones. Lot's of focus on developing your own style, enjoying what you have, trying new things, and no pointless "buy slim raw denim and dress like Paul Newman" wank.
